This week, I had customer service experiences and want to celebrate companies who Care!

  1. ULTA - I blogged about them in the Total Transparency tab. Their customer service is honestly amazing. They reward members for their loyalty, but they actually care. Female leadership also. What is not to love?

  2. Tarte - I am still fan-girling because they tweeted me back. Solid company. Shape tape and double duty beauty. Amazing products and not because I write poetry! The base tape is a must ladies!

  3. Becca Cosmetics - Up and coming heavy hitter. Excellent customer service. I love their lip gloss.

  4. Glamglow - I had an issue with an order and they knocked it out of the park. Gravitymud is the only mud I allow to be slung in my face.

  5. CVS - My pharmacist is better than yours. Enough said!

Elegant Envelopes

To anyone that ships, I am going to recommend an amazing company. FU Global sells shipping supplies and their storefront Is here: Fu Global At Amazon

I am not affiliated with them or doing this for any gain other than to say this company is amazing.

I am not one for basic and boring and this company sets me apart and follows up and has high ratings as a seller. Not only do they look amazing, they are durable and the adhesive makes you be careful so you do not make a mistake packing. (Been there done that!)

Look at their beauty.

tarte treatment

I love makeup. I contacted Tarte’s Customer Service today regarding a product. I must say that I love them even more now. I never interacted with the company, but it is being run right and they make some amazing cosmetics.

I wanted people to know that they possess integrity in my eyes and are well worth it. They are fun, cutting-edge, trendsetters, and treat their customers like gold-even though I love their bronzer.

Thank you Tamara at Tarte!

Remaining Relevant

I have said this before I even wrote books, but Walmart will beat Scamazon in the end. They do not deviate from their values, their employees are much more engaged and caring, and they can handle innovation, acquisitions, and trends more seamlessly than the Scam can.

They need to dump, but they keep them because they are protecting them from the big, bad Scam. Walmart also is honest.

They have Ebooks now. They need to start a publishing side where authors can have paperbacks and publish them to get honest data.

If I had an investor, I would open my own publishing company and definitely take KDP out. True creatives know all the hidden ones who are afraid to write because they see the BS I go through. I spend more time babysitting a global corporation than I do anything else it seems.

When I babysat when I was younger, I made $20 each time. It is more than I am making on five books. Haha.

eBay Excellence

I had an issue with selling something on eBay and their customer service has Exceeded my Expectations. I am floored that they went above and beyond despite my stupidity in thinking I was doing a good deed.

I pride myself on honesty and integrity. I try to be the best person I can for society. I thought I was doing a good deed and fell victim to deception. Knowing, I made an error and poor judgment, I asked them for help and they helped me. I am honestly so impressed.

Thank you so much eBay!

Core Companies

I was raised with values. My father was a union electrician. We were only allowed to have American cars and could not shop at Walmart when they first entered our area because they didn’t hire union electricians. Everything we owned was made in the USA.

If he was still alive today, he would have adapted. That is part of life. It will soon be 23 years without him and I have been driving Japanese cars and shopping at Walmart for probably 21 years.

The world is different now as many people have embraced change. In the 60’s, the main issue was segregation and acceptance grew over time because it was forced.

The 70’s had awful music and in the 80’s, homosexuality was the target of people’s rage and hate. That trickled into the 90’s. One of my best friends came out in the 90’s and after that, I saw her shunned. Yet, I would still sleep next to her in her bed because she may have been gay, but didn’t have any feelings for me. She is still one of my best friends. Do we fight and argue? Yes, but we always remember, we were always there for each other. She was at my father’s funeral. Those are the people you remember vividly.

Yes, I am bawling as I write this because now at a global scale, people and companies can truly make a difference. That is why I have companies I truly believe in and would stand up for. People can disagree with me, but dignity is something everyone deserves no matter what. It is free.

  1. Canva has a value statement to “empower the world through design.” In their mission statement, the words DIVERSE, EMPATHY, UNDERSTAND, IMPROVE LIVES, ALL WALKS, ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD. They stand by that. I stumbled across them to design the book cover and would recommend this company to everyone. If I did not have their services, I would not be able to channel my creativity when I do not want to write. Well, I’d cook meals for 12, but they help me be creative in other areas and add visuals to my work. They also do not ignore, which is critical. They listen. That is true leadership. Even if you do not consider yourself creative, try them. You’ll have fun.

  2. Walmart has had the same value statement despite shifting some linguistics. It has always been to save their customers money. That is what they do. Have I always liked Walmart? No, their customers ruined it for me. The store would be a mess. Now, I shop through other avenues they offer and off hours in the store. Their stores are now immaculate and they have such engaging employees. They listen as well. They send surveys, just like Canva because they want to be better and make us better.

  3. Google, while the hot button, is Google Plus right now, how many people even used G+? I had no success with it, but still posted and only had 13 followers. Besides Apple, this is the only company to protect me when I had issues being hacked. They offer so many services that I question if people know about everything they offer.

  4. CVS: While a tornado shut the pharmacy down with my medication in the danger zone, this company worked as a company to ensure I had my medication. I was a patient, not a customer. Tess went above and beyond for me and is a superhero.

  5. Apple: Yes, I am an Apple person. They react fast when you need them and have always been there for me.

What I am saying is different things mean different things to people. These companies mean something to me because there is a C2B relationship. Great companies care about their customers and employees.

Greedy companies care about numbers. The number of hours employees work, sales, cost of benefits, and salaries, for example. While data does matter; at the end of the day, it is all about how you treat people. That increases companies’ chances of survival .

CVS Cares

Patience with Patients

Anytime someone has a prescription, people are patients rather than customers. I wanted to recognize CVS Pharmacy today, as going above and beyond. Whoever thought of their tagline truly captures their Extra Care.

Due to an act of nature, my prescription was not accessible. A tornado tore through and closed the CVS in Target. I called CVS' Customer Service phone number and they recognized me more so, as a patient, rather than a customer. They then put me in touch with Tess, a Pharmacy District Supervisor, who tirelessly, and thoughtfully, helped me today.

On and off, it was an all-day ordeal for my anti-anxiety medication, and you know what? During the whole day, I did not feel anxious about it. I trust this company. They just now took my loyalty to a whole new level.

I cannot thank Tess enough. The company's level of care and compassion, has been, undoubtedly, one of the best customer service experiences I've had. CVS is very fortunate to have a true leader whom takes action and treats customers with respect and Extra Care.

Walmart's Wonder

Featured on Kivo Daily

When a company has a simple mission statement along with a virtual vision, and great leadership,  they are a force of nature. Whether you are with them or without them, Walmart has well earned my respect as a customer. They are a company cognizant that "change is constant". Their adaptability and strive for success has made them a scapegoat.

They are often blamed for brick and mortars falling from grace. Yet, what the company does is simple. They are implementing innovative initiatives. They have great relationships with manufacturers to be able offer the lowest prices. They care about their customers. Most importantly; their mission statement has remained the same since they have been founded. They have changed the wording over time, but have remained steadfast in their values.

Their innovations impress me. My favorite feature is Grocery pickup. They even offer coupons and you can get more coupons through referrals. $10 off of $50, on top of the lowest prices is huge! The app tracks you and when you pull in, you pop open the trunk, sign for it, and receive great customer service despite not entering the store. They do not accept tips, they instead state "there is a survey in my email to provide feedback". The survey rating is their tip. Sometimes, their name badges are flipped over because I tend to always pick up on the days where there is crazy wind and rain, but I ask their name and always give them recognition. Four of the employees know me and I actually feel connected to them despite never entering the store. If you are interested in this, click on the contact box and send a message with your email and I will send you the referral link so we both can save!

Their website was recently redesigned and is now more aesthetic. They store all of my order history due to my use of their website and two apps. They then feature my most purchased items  on the top. I get to reorder in one click, if I need more than one, it is two clicks. They even look to save their online shoppers time. They have changed to free 2-day shipping for orders $35 or over and refunded customers when they decided to abandon the Shipping Pass program. If you plan ahead, they offer No-Rush Shipping where they take some money off of your order. Their online customer service is one of the best that I have encountered. They have outside vendors selling on their website, which I have not had great experiences with the quality of product, but Walmart rose to the occasion and rectified everything! Always look to see where the product is coming from and read the reviews if it isn't from Walmart directly.

Their stores have a fresh new look and are beautiful now.  Their merchandising is admirable and eye-catching.  They have cut down many stores on being open 24/7.  The app actually lets you make a list and the list generates the aisle numbers where to find your product.  In and out in under 10 minutes flat  There is also a hidden gem that I never have seen advertised, it is a word of mouth promotion.  The Savings Catcher.  Discover it if you shop in the physical store.  I heard about it through a friend and no one I have encountered knows about it.  Brilliant and innovating, yet going back to basic word of mouth promotion.

I have to admit, I think Walmart's reputation was hurt because of their clientele.  I think we are all guilty of using the words "People of Walmart" and have at least seen pictures from the notorious website.  I honestly refused to shop there because of the customers, some filled with impatience and crass.  Still to this day, I go at 6:00am because no one is there.  The self checkout is fast and easy.  I prefer online and Grocery because I feel I receive better customer service.  By cutting the  hours of being open 24/7 , they have cut back on the theatrics of late night shenanigans.  As a teen and in my 20's, Walmart was the place to go late night and in the middle of the night.  We didn't buy anything, we were having fun.  As an adult, I see we were causing their employees more work.

Finally, their mission statement has never wavered.  That is critical in long term success.  You can't change your catch-phrase or slogan drastically or change it more than once a year.  This indicates you are confused and really have no clear vision.  "We save people money so they can live better."  Personally, they need to add time to this because they save people money and time in 2018 and have had a positive impact in my life and I am honestly living better.  They give me free time so I have no issues taking their customer engagement surveys because they help me.  The surveys indicate to me that they care about the customer and their opinion.  We save people "money and time" or "time and money" it should say at least for the website and Grocery pickup.

They take change and they conquer it.  I have so much admiration for them and applied to work for them, but they responded that I am not qualified.  I don't think Arkansas would suit me anyways.  I still am an avid supporter of them despite being raised to not be.  My father was a union electrician and when they hit the Mid-Atlantic, they did not hire union electricians so we couldn't shop there.  We could also only drive American cars.  Unfortunately, he passed away, so after my American cars kept having issues, in my 20's, I switched to Japanese cars.  I also started shopping at Walmart when I was in college, but stopped for a few years because of the store atmosphere.  However, I am now a huge advocate and if alive, he would see their values today and would embrace the company.  I come from a blue collar family where values mean everything and Walmart has never once deviated from their values, they simply adapt to their modern-day surroundings.

Oh and if you want to save $ and save me $, try the grocery pickup and let me know what you think of it.
